Matt Torigian, Chief of Waterloo Regional Police Services will talk about "Policing in Waterloo Region" at our Joint Dinner Meeting on Tuesday May 25. The meeting will be at Luther Village, with refreshments starting at 6PM and dinner at 6:30PM. Cost $26. RSVP by May 20 to your Kiwanis contact.
This dinner meeting will also feature a Silent Auction, with all proceeds going to the Kiwanis District HIV/AIDS project.

Kiwanis Clubs to help Clean Up GRCA/ GVT Trails -

Our local Kiwanis Clubs are undertaking a joint project, as part of the Kiwanis One Day, to clean up part of the Grand Valley Trail. Members of the Grand Valley Trails Association are also going to join us on Apr 10 to help us organize for this event.

2009 Poinsettia Campaign -

Our annual Poinsettia Sales Campaign has wrapped up for another year. Thank you to all those who purchased plants from us this year. We hope you enjoyed the plants as much as we enjoyed providing this service.
We delivered over 700 plants to various locations throughout Waterloo Region. Your generosity will help us fund our various community projects.
Also, thanks to Warren Greenhouses for again providing us with such wonderful plants.

Wonders Of Winter to Open Nov 28 -

The 16th Annual Wonders of Winter Festival is set to open Saturday November 28, with the opening ceremonies starting at 6 pm beside the Park Inn. The Festival will run through until Jan 3, 2010, with lights on daily from 5:30 to 10:30. Admission is free. Wonders of Winter is a community service project sponsored by 11 different service clubs providing a festival of lighting displays throughout Waterloo Park. The Kiwanis Clubs in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region are pleased to announce that Lou Wise, former head of the film and photo department at Avro Arrow will be our guest speaker on Tuesday November 17. Samaritan's Purse Managers to Speak -

Join us on Tuesday Oct 27, 2009 to hear Paul & Eleanor Ross, the Managers for the Operation Christmas Child Processing Centre serving eastern Canada for the past 13 years. Operation Christmas Child is the world's largest Children's Project. Shoeboxes filled with useful gifts travel around the world, helping to make a difference in the lives of children living in desperate situations.
This event will be at Luther Village, starting at 6pm. Cost is $26.

18th Anniversary of Service to the Community -

Lt. Governor Peter Tudisco, on behalf of EC&C Governor Sharon Cameron-Dunn, presented the Kiwanis Club of Waterloo North with a certificate of congratulations on their 18 years of service to the community. Jacqui, Janet & Larry have been with the Club since the very beginning. Since being chartered on March 19, 1991, the Club has been involved in a number of activities in the community.
