Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. As part of our service to the community, we support various organizations that are pursuing goals and objectives that are consistent with ours. Accordingly, we have established a set of guidelines that help us evaluate the various requests that we receive.

Our normal routine is to approve funding requests at our March, June, September and December board meetings that are generally held in the 3^rd week of the month. Please submit your application well in advance of this approval date. Before decisions are made, we generally request that you make a presentation about your project at one of our regular meetings and we may also wish to do a site visit.

Factors we consider when we evaluate a request include:

1.       Does the funding serve the community at large?

2.       Does the funding focus on children?

3.       Does the funding go to an organization or individual?

4.       Does the funding provide our Kiwanis Club with exposure?

5.       Is the funding for:

a. program startup or pilot project

b. program development

c. operating expense

d. capital acquisition

6.       What demographics (age, sex, group etc) does this project serve?

7.       How will the success of the program be measured?

8.       Is there an opportunity to promote Kiwanis?
